In 1891 construction began on a two family farmhouse in La Fargeville, Ny. Nearly 125 years later, the farmhouse remains not only a centerpiece of our family's dairy farm but a place of comfort,tradition, and many wonderful memories. In other words - home.
TRADITION
The farm was started as a means to provide for the growing family. While the family raised a variety of livestock, including chickens, cows were the farm's mainstay. Raised mainly for their meat and milk, the cows milk also provided cream for butter and for special occasions, homemade ice cream. It was a time when sustainable was synonymous with self reliance, and we aim to continue that tradition today, by transforming the organic milk from our own herd into delicious handcrafted cheeses.
